Why Adopt?Adopting a pet is one of the most rewarding things you can do for yourself and your household – and, of course, the pet! You will save a life and make your world better. Most rescue pets wind up here because of a human problem like a move or a divorce, not because the animals did anything wrong. Many are already house-trained and used to living with families. All animals at our Rescue need a second chance. They have been lost, given up or abandoned. You have the power to give them a new life in a loving home. Fill out an application today! When you adopt a pet through our Rescue, the cost of spay/neuter, first vaccinations and microchipping are included in the adoption price. That’s a bargain when you consider you’ll be bringing home the companion of a lifetime! In addition, we provide a support system to you. Our volunteers and fosters have spent time with our rescues, getting to know their personality, habits, likes and dislikes. We are happy to help you through the introductory period because we care that our animals go to happy homes. We have animals of all ages, from kitten to senior. Kittens are adorable and energetic. They need lots of playtime to thrive and can be quite entertaining. Adopting a mature pet not only gives older animals a second chance, but it may also be much easier to introduce them to your family. Cats, particularly older, calmer cats, are easy to care for and provide loving companionship. We know you can find one at our Rescue that matches your lifestyle. We also have a Senior for Seniors Program where we match seniors with a senior pet. There is no better way to provide a special companionship to seniors. Animals give you unconditional love, and research shows that they are psychologically, emotionally and physically beneficial to their companions. Caring for a pet can provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment - and a new best friend. What could be more worthwhile than that? When you adopt a pet from our Rescue, you help our non-profit organization reach our goal of finding homes for as many animals as we can and teaching the community the importance of spaying and neutering to diminish chances that more unwanted animals will enter the world. When your friends ask where you got your amazing pet, you can tell them “at Hart 2 Heart”. Your adoption may encourage others to do the same. More than change an animal’s life, you give them a life. And you get a new best friend. You may end up wondering who saved who. If you are thinking about adopting a pet, there is no time like the present !
